Historical rulers: Maharana Pratap (1540-1597) — greatest Mewar warrior, fought Battle of Haldighati (1576) against Akbar's forces led by Man Singh. His horse Chetak is legendary. Colonel Tod called Haldighati the 'Marathon of Mewar'. After Haldighati, Pratap reconquered most of Mewar through guerrilla warfare from Chavand. Rana Kumbha (1433-1468) — 'Hindu Sultan', built 32 of 84 Mewar forts including Kumbhalgarh (36 km wall), composed Sangeet Raj and other texts, built Vijay Stambh at Chittorgarh. Sawai Jai Singh II (1688-1743) — founded Jaipur (1727), built 5 Jantar Mantars (Jaipur, Delhi, Ujjain, Varanasi, Mathura — NOT 3!), astronomer and mathematician.

Freedom fighters: Kesari Singh Barhath — wrote the famous 'Chetak' poem inspiring Rajput valor, revolutionary leader of Rajasthan. Arjun Lal Sethi — Jaipur revolutionary, founded the Jaipur Rajputra Mandal. Pratap Singh Barhath — revolutionary martyr (Kesari Singh's son). Vijay Singh Pathik — organized the Bijolia Peasant Movement (1916 onwards), called the 'Founder of Non-Cooperation in Rajasthan'. Motilal Tejawat — tribal leader of Bhils, organized Eki Movement (1921), called 'Gandhi of Vagad'. Govind Guru — founded Samp Sabha (1883), led Mangarh Dhulni massacre movement (17 Nov 1913 — called 'Jallianwala Bagh of Rajasthan').

Cultural personalities: Karpurchand Kulish — founded Rajasthan Patrika (leading Hindi daily), wrote in Dhundhari dialect. Dr. P.K. Sethi — invented the Jaipur Foot (prosthetic limb). Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt — invented Mohan Veena, won Grammy Award (1994). Kripal Singh Shekhawat — international fame for Blue Pottery of Jaipur. Shrilal Joshi — Padma Shri for Phad painting. Allah Jilai Bai — famous Maand singer from Barmer. Gaurishankar Heerachand Ojha — eminent historian, wrote history of princely states.

Sports personalities: Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore — Olympic silver medalist (shooting, 2004 Athens). Avani Lekhara — Paralympic gold medalist (shooting, Tokyo 2020), first Indian woman to win Paralympic gold. Krishna Poonia — Commonwealth Games gold in discus throw (2010).
